Prior to purchasing please read the item description carefully for the garment’s measurements. Measurements are listed in each item description to help ensure a proper fit. With heavier garments (such as a wool coat, shearling lamb coat or fur coat), the measurements taken on the outside of garment make it seem larger than its actual fit. Please keep in mind the thickness of a coat or fur when deciding on its fit for yourself. We will provide all necessary measurements, but if you need any additional information, by all means contact us!

How & Where to Measure Yourself
(using a soft tapemeasure)

BUST - Measure under your arms around the fullest part of your bust, keeping tape level across your shoulder blades.

ACROSS SHOULDERS - Measure from edge of one shoulder (where arm meets the shoulder) across to edge of the other shoulder.

WAIST - Measure around your natural waistline at the height where you usually wear your pants or skirts, keeping the tape comfortably loose (don’t squeeze!)

DROP WAIST - Measure around your body 1-1/2" below your natural waistline.

HIPS - Standing with your feet together, measure around the fullest part of your hips. (Yes ladies, the fullest part… as painful as that may seem!)

ARM LENGTH - (for sleeve length) Measure from the top of your arm (where arm meets shoulder) to your wrist bone or to edge of your cuff.

INSEAM LENGTH - (for pants) The best way to do this is to measure a pair of pants that fit you well (Not your sexy skin tight jeans that you poured yourself into!!) from the crotch seam to the bottom hem edge.

How We Measure a Garment
(using a soft tape measure)
We do this while garment is laying flat on a table.

BUST - Measure 1" below armhole (underarm) from seam to seam and double this measurement. For example, a flat measurement of 19" would be a 38" bust.

ACROSS SHOULDER - Measure from shoulder seam to shoulder seam. If there are no shoulder seams, (such as with a dolman and raglan sleeve) we will provide other measurements such as sleeve length measured from center back neck seam to edge of cuff.

WAIST - (of fitted jacket, coat or blouse) Measure across the smallest part of waist from side seam to side seam and double this measurement. For example, a flat measurement of 13" would be a 26" waist. As a point of reference, we will give the measurement from shoulder down to where we actually measured across the waist.

WAIST - (of pants or skirt) Measure across top of waist from side seam to side seam or edge to edge.

HIPS - Depending upon garment style, measure 7 to 9" from the waist seam (below waistband) and double this. If there is no waist seam (such as with a fitted dress or coat), we will state the reference point measurement from shoulder down to where hips were measured. For example, a 38" hip was measured 25" down from shoulder seam.

SLEEVE LENGTH - Measured from shoulder seam along top of sleeve to edge of cuff. If there is no shoulder seam. (such as with a dolman and raglan sleeve), we will measure from the center back neck seam along shoulder and top of sleeve to edge of cuff.

TOTAL LENGTH - Measured from high point of shoulder (where shoulder and neck seam meet) down to edge of hem.

BOTTOM HEM WIDTH - Measured across from side seam to side seam.

SWEEP - (Mostly for coats) Measure from one edge of garment along hem to other edge. We will also give the placket overlap width.
